As well as founding The Tormont50, Mr. Wood is the current President of Tormont Group, a cross border Advisory celebrating its fifth year as an active participant in North American markets. Prior to Tormont Group Mr. Wood was the Managing Director of Equity Sales at Loewen Ondaatje where he was primarily responsible for leading financings and assignments for emerging companies. Prior to this he held active roles as Vice President at BMO Nesbitt Burns, as well as at CIBC World Markets. From 1993 to 1995, Mr. Wood was a stockbroker at Midland Walwyn Capital. Mr. Wood received a BA from the University of Toronto.

Hedge Fund and The New USA Mutual Fund. He began his career at William O’Neil + Co., where he specialized in IPO analysis
and was part of the team that developed and tested the industry’s first internet-based institutional stock charting and
Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts, double major, in English and Communication Arts and a Masters of Business Administration,
Finance, both from Loyola Marymount University (Los Angeles).
Kara Wood is a leading expert in the field of big data and data science. She equips companies and working professionals with the numbers they need to stay competitive in today’s data-driven economy. Kara has spent the last decade consulting for large technical organizations in the private sector, such as IBM, DBRS, and BDC, as well as other government organizations.
She is the founder of Succinct Social Media, a member of the Social Media Research Institute and a board member of the Women’s College Hospital Foundation.
Kara’s educational background includes a Media and Communications degree from Fraser Valley University; during her time there, it was one of the first degree programs offered in the study of the Internet and how it was going to shape our global cultures.

Sam is responsible for acquiring new clients for Tormont50. His role as the Managing Partner is to seek small-cap companies with unique and innovative technologies across a variety of different sectors. After acquiring a number of new companies from September-December 2017, Sam has found that the companies which have signed on to Tormont50 have 4 recognizably different features for growth drivers. These are: Innovative and unique technologies, an increase in cash flow/are revenue positive, a distinct mission statement and value proposition and have a solid team of management and board of directors. Sam’s target is to have the Top 50 companies formed by June of 2018 in preparation for the Tormont50 conference which will be held in Downtown Toronto this coming October. With this, we can demonstrate how selecting winning companies can greatly benefit our institutional investors and the companies that we have segmented for new private placement opportunities. We look forward to continuing to build new relationships and have continued growth throughout the year.
